A Flat Front Refuses Flatness
When does an almost invisible disturbance become the dominant structure?

What to notice
Tiny perturbations contain wavelengths that the flat state cannot suppress. Those unstable components grow first; nonlinear advection later limits and reorganizes them.
Everyday analogy. A perfectly flat rug under compression may look stable until a tiny wrinkle appears. Once the flat arrangement cannot suppress that disturbance, the wrinkle can grow into the dominant shape.
