Semantic Federation did not produce one ever-growing mapping engine. The surviving structure is cleaner: Transport moves meaning, Federation assembles independently meaningful local views, and Governance determines which laws, authorities, times, trust relationships, and institutional acts make those relations usable.
How does meaning move?
Witnessed relations, applicability, preservation contracts, ordered composition, coherence, historical replay, and transport receipts.
How can local worlds cooperate?
Intact local views, explicit overlaps, non-canonical assembly, perspective drift, bounded disclosure, and partial trust.
When may the result be relied upon?
Relation law, effectivity, authority, supersession, transition consequence, trust policy, admission, and institutional standing.
The repeated non-equalities
The most durable results are the shortcuts that failed across the sequence.
Being about the same thing does not establish semantic equivalence.
A computation can produce evidence without creating an institutional fact.
Historical assertions replay under the law that was effective then.
Retirement requires an explicit transition policy for still-live dependents.
A graph edge can be downstream without being semantically impacted.
A coherent global account can exist without synthesizing a master record.
Authority is scoped by role and time, not revision number.
Not revealing a value is different from not knowing it.
Truth, trust, and semantic fitness are separate coordinates.
Geometry supplied structural precedent for representation-invariant identity, preservation, path-sensitive transport, local-to-global assembly, non-canonical equivalence, and direct-vs-composed coherence. Semantic Federation independently forced typed relation law, applicability, semantic time, supersession, causality, authority, disclosure, trust, and institutional standing.
The boundary matters: legal, operational, audit, policy, and ontology systems are not claimed to literally be gauge fields, bundles, or topological phases.
Maturity now
Public clarity should not erase epistemic status.
